Andretti Green driver Tony Kanaan won the IRL IndyCar race at the 1.5-mile egg shaped oval in Motegi, Japan.
The dominance of the red cars (Penske and Ganassi) on the 1.5-mile or larger ovals over the last 18 monthes has finally been broken.
It was Andretti Green driver Tony Kanaan who broke through at the Indy Japan 300 to capture his first win of the season, and first win at the circuit in 10 tries (5 IndyCar, 5 CART).
