The Open Court, tijdschrift opgericht door Edward C. Hegeler en geredigeerd door Paul Carus tot zijn dood in 1919, “devoted to the science of religion, the religion of science, and the extension of the religious parliament idea," verscheen van 1887 tot 1936. Onderwerpen waren onder andere the history of philosophy, Asian religions and culture, education, and contemporary ideas of religion and philosophy, reviews of contemporary works of theology, philosophy, science, and mathematics.
Men is dit jaar begonnen het tijdschrift te digitaliseren. In het juli-nummer van 1906 werd het Opera-portret van Spinoza gepubliceerd, met daarbij een toelichting en vertaling in het Engels vanuit het Latijn van het onderschrift bij dat portret. [Zie hier]
En het augustus nummer van 1907 bevatte in de rubriek MISCELLANEOUS onderstaand gedicht van J. H. Berkowitz.
