Op 18 aug. had ik al een blog over David Ives's New Jerusalem met filosofisch festival "Theater and the Age of Reason". De Lantern Theater Company in Philadelphia brengt vanaf 6 oktober het succesvolle stuk over Spinoza van David Ives en laat dat gepaard gaan met een filosofiefestival. Ik kom er hier graag op terug, daar inmiddels het programma bekend is [zie hier]
Als laatste en keynote spreker zal Jonathan Israel een lezing houden onder de titel die ik dit blog meegaf. Hij zal "compare the philosophies of Baruch de Spinoza and founding father Benjamin Franklin, revealing the impact of Spinoza's thinking on the democratic principles that have shaped the United States and left an indelible mark here in Philadelphia."
