Piet Steenbakkers in het 2e hoofdstuk, “The text of Spinoza’s Tractatus Theologico-Politicus”, in een zeer recent boek over de TTP [Yitzhak Y. Melamed & Michael A. Rosenthal (Eds.): SPINOZA’S Theological-Political Treatise. A Critical Guide.
“The successive editions were labeled T.1 to T.5 (where T stands for Tractatus theologico-politicus) by Fritz Bamberger. Four of these (T.1–2, T.4–5) were in quarto, T.3 was an octavo volume. The quarto editions are so similar in appearance that the differences between them went unnoticed until 1865, when Graesse first pointed out their typographical distinctions. After that, the Dutch scholar and Spinoza editor J. P. N. Land charted the four editions in their chronological order. Bamberger drew up the following list: T.1 1669/1670, T.2 1672, T.3 1673/1674, T.4 and T.5 after 1677.2”
