Matthew Stewart, de auteur van dat schitterende boek De ketter en de hoveling. Spinoza en Leibniz en het lot van God in de moderne wereld (2008 – zie dit blog) is, zo kon ik in een blog van 27 oktober 2012 laten weten, bezig met een boek dat de werktitel kreeg The heterodox origins of the American Revolution. Het zou ondermeer Spinoza’s invloed daarop via Joh Locke aan de orde stellen, zo liet Wim Klever mij weten. Stewart zou zich sterk baseren op Klevers Locke's Disguised Spinozism (2009)
Inmiddels is de titel bekend én wordt aangegeven dat het boek 1 juli 2014 zal verschijnen:
Matthew Stewart, The God of the Green Mountains. On the Heterodox Origins of the American Revolution.
"At the Cullman Center, Stewart will work on a book about the role of Deism in the founding of the United States. He will examine the philosophical and religious views of, among others, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Thomas Young, and Ethan Allen, the leader of the Green Mountain Boys."[Cf.]
