Book Review: 'Revolutionary Ideas' by Jonathan Israel

The seeds of the French Revolution were sown by advocates of press freedom arguing for basic human rights.
Scurr heeft nogal wat aan te merken op Israels boek, maar weet weinig of niets van Spinoza zoals blijkt uit:
"Central to the story is Spinoza, the 17th-century philosopher and rationalist who argued that everything that exists in nature (or in the universe) is a single reality and that God is distinct from the world."
